Refusing single use plastics for the future of the people and the planet, parents, pupils, School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) officers, and the teaching and non-teaching personnel of Burol Elementary through the initiative of the Greenpeace- Global Anti- Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA) contribute an action during the "REFUSE SINGLE-USE DAY" celebration on January 6 by intensifying the use of tumblers at home, in the school and community. Aside from the school, the Local Government Unit (LGU) representative and some fans of SB19 (PPOP group) called A'TIN also join the advocacy.

Wagi ang Paaralang Elementarya ng Burol ng tatlong parangal mula sa 2022 Gawad Bayanihan ng City Schools Division of DasmariΓ±as: 1st place Most Outstanding Elementary School in Partnerships, Best Partnership Engagement Activity (Project RESILIENT), at 1st place Best Brigada Eskwela Implementer (Medium Category); mga parangal na mula sa masigasig na paglilingkod ng punongguro ng paaralan na si Gng. Ilyn Javelosa, Adopt-a-School ProgramΒ  coordinator na si Gng. Merly Brisbin, at Brigada Eskwela coordinator Bb. Reschel Booc, sa tulong ng mga partners, volunteers at iba pang internal at external stakeholders.

With the goal to strengthen the school reading program to address the learning loss and gaps caused by the pandemic, the City Schools Division of DasmariΓ±as conducts its Oplan Pagbabasa cum Reading Program Progress Monitoring on January 17. Mr. Crisaldo Belas, Public Schools District Supervisor, evaluates student's reading progress thru paragraph reading of randomly selected learners.
